UCL

All A4Tech students apply through the UCL Apply Online system, selecting the appropriate level of Affiliate study. Please fill out the Host Institution Slip for your students.

Attention!

• Please note that there are only 12 Exchange spots at UCL for A4Tech Exchange students. That would mean that each A4Tech university could send 4 students.
• Please let the A4Tech Coordinator know by mid February how many students were selected for a stay at UCL and which courses they would like to be taking at the UCL Faculty of Engineering Sciences. Students are also allowed to indicate backup courses. A4Tech Coordinator will match any remaining spots and the list of courses will be checked for availability for A4Tech Students.
• Please note that only courses from the UCL Faculty of Engineering Sciences are available for selection for A4Tech students. Students usually need to take at least 50% of their courses within their host department but may choose up to 50% as electives from other departments. The course selection can only be finalized shortly before the stay and depends on availability, approval from the course tutor, and meeting any prerequisites.
• If students are at UCL for less then six month and are not applying for Student Visa, they don’t need to provide English Language Certification. Students staying for over six months at UCL need to comply to the English Language Requirements of UCL: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-students/graduate/english-language-requirements
• UCL has a 3-Term academic year, where all centrally managed exams from Term 1 and Term 2 modules take place in Term 3. Term 3 doesn’t have lectures. The applications can be considered either for Term 1, Terms 2 & 3, or full year (i.e. Terms 1, 2 and 3). Certain courses have their final assessment in Term 3. Please be aware that with these courses, the students have to travel back to London for their exam in May/June. Some Term 1 modules offer alternative assessments at the end of Term 1.

Students have to apply in PoliMis Online Tool until April 30 / October 30. After the application of the students, the contact has to approve the application by April 30 / October 30 in the Online services to nominate the student.

• Please send the A4Tech Coordinator in beginning of April a List of all students that are going to study at PoliMi, as the PoliMi Exchange Coordinators have to flag the A4Tech Students.
• Please advise Architecture Students that it is very important which architecture lab they are choosing, as the choice of courses depends on it.
